BOYS BASKETBALL
GAME OF THE NIGHT
Firth 72, West Jefferson 65 (OT)
Firth enjoyed a six-point lead over West Jefferson as the fourth quarter began, but the Panthers stormed back to tie the contest at 49-49 with 1:49 to play on a layup by Tate Simmons. On Firth’s possession, Michael Adams was fouled, and sank one-of-two free throws for a 50-49 lead. West J. took the lead with 47 seconds to play as Cannon Calder hit a floater in the key for a 51-50 advantage, but Firth answered as Wyatt Killpack scored inside with 26 seconds remaining. Trailing 52-51, the Panthers threw the ball away on an inbounds pass with 6.6 seconds to play, giving the ball back to Firth. A quick foul put Firth at the line, where they missed both free throws. Following the second miss, Brycen Andersen grabbed an offensive rebound, forcing West J. to foul once again. This time, Andersen sank the first free throw but missed the second. Rawley Calder rebounded the second miss for West J. and went coast-to-coast, scoring a layup as time expired to send the game to overtime tied at 53-53. The Cougars steadily pulled away in the extra frame, outscoring the Panthers 19-12 to earn the win. Firth is now 1-0 in Nuclear Conference play and 8-4 overall. West Jefferson is 0-1 and 5-6.
PRIME-TIME PERFORMER
Potlatch secured a breakthrough victory over Kendrick on Tuesday night, winning 62-55 in the always unpredictable 2A Whitepine League. The Loggers were led by Everett Lovell’s 30 points. Lovell hit five three-point shots in the win, and scored his other 15 points in more traditional ways.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
GAME OF THE NIGHT
Pocatello 64, Thunder Ridge 60 (OT)
The Thunder trailed 52-51 with 25 seconds to play, but tied the contest after Kenna Garza went one-of-two at the free throw line. Thunder Ridge held for the final shot of regulation, but turned the ball over with less than a second remaining, sending the game to overtime. In OT, the Titans took a 60-59 lead with 1:30 remaining on a three-pointer by Rylin Jackson, but Pocatello would outscore Thunder Ridge 5-0 the rest of the way to finish off the victory. A jumper from Abby Lusk, two free throws from Liv Marshall, and one free throw from Lusk provided the winning margin of victory. Pocatello improves to 14-2, while Thunder Ridge is now 9-7.
PRIME-TIME PERFORMER
Emma Krogh exploded for a career-high 44 points and added seven steals in Kamiah’s 70-38 win over arch-rival Clearwater Valley.
