Kimberly is part of a tough 3A Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference led by reigning champion Buhl, the state runner-ups last season.

After an 8-17 mark last year, the team looks to turn it around in the new campaign. The Bulldogs enter the season with an almost entirely new look on the floor, with Zach Wright, an All-Conference player last year, and Weston Littlefair the only players with much experience.

Second year Head Coach Daren Garey is patrolled with leading the youth movement, with some good talent at his disposal. The sophomore duo of Taylor Holcomb down low and Trey Garey on the guard line should help keep the Bulldogs competitive on a nightly basis.

“Taylor Holcomb is a 6'7” sophomore who gives us some size inside to help defend strong post players in our conference,” said Coach Garey.

In the backcourt Kimberly loses All-Conference guard Derek Wadsworth. Along with Trey Garey, junior Braden Corronado will be asked to help fill the void.

During early season play there might be some lumps, but in the long run the two should help the Bulldogs to see continued improvement. Zach Wright will be another key asset.

“Zach Wright gives us someone who can slash to the basket,” said Coach Garey. “We hope to play a little faster and get a few more easy buckets. We have a better shooting team than we have had.”

After struggling to put points on the board for much of last season, the key for Kimberly will be for the new additions to step right in and provide a strong scoring punch.

Defensively there are a couple of focus areas heading into the new season.

“We must improve on finishing the possession, but securing the defensive rebound,” said Coach Garey.
