After a 12-10 season a year ago, Bonners Ferry faces a bit of a building prospect as the Badgers look to be one of many teams in the Intermountain League looking to chase down Timberlake. Bonners Ferry returns three key players in all-conference wing Kerstin Oxford, to go with rim protector Miranda Wenk and wing Abby Davis. Beyond that, however, the Badgers are short on experience, so it will be up to the more seasoned players and coaching staff to bring the youngsters along.

Fortunately for Bonners Ferry, the youth coming up through the ranks has plenty of ability; it just needs time to mature. Versatility and athleticism should be strong points for the Bonners Ferry offense and defense going forward in 2015-16.

The Badgers can throw bodies at opponents out on the perimeter and complement that with a strong inside presence from Wenk, just a sophomore. As long as they can take care of the basketball and minimize turnovers, especially unforced ones, Bonners Ferry should be able to score well this season.

Defensively, Oxford is a lock-down defender on the perimeter and Wenk offers rim protection. That combination will allow the Badgers to be more aggressive in their defensive schemes and put opposing offenses under pressure with more regularity. With that, however, comes the risk of piling up the foul count, especially in a physical conference like the Intermountain League. Defending without fouling will keep key players on the floor longer and allow Bonners Ferry to defend at its best for 32 minutes a night.
