In small school football the players on the lines don't get talked about as much as some of the skill position athletes who have the opportunity to make big plays with the extra space on the field.

For the Camas County Mushers in 2017, that dialogue looks to be reversed, with standouts on each line ready to continue forward the positive momentum built from a strong season last year.

Head Coach Rusty Kramer has some solid big bodies including KC Hainline and Zack Reedy on each line, along with Remington Kramer as a running back and linebacker. Both Hainline and Reedy were All-Conference honorees last year, with the duo hoping to open up more holes on offense and create extra havoc on the other side of the ball this time around.

The front line is especially strong on defense.

"Fantastic front four," said Kramer. "Usually a 4-2 defense with a lot of blitzing."

He wants to see improvement on each side of the football in regards to cutting down penalties. It was an area of weakness to a certain extent in 2016, so cutting down there could help push the Mushers to a few more wins.

Camas County will rely on freshman newcomer Alex Roblos to ignite a spark into the offense from the receiver position.

While having Roblos at disposal is something that excites everybody involved with the Mushers, the team will also look to keep the ball on the ground a good amount as well.

In order for this team to take the next step and get to the upper portion of the conference standings, Coach Kramer knows there are a couple key things that need to happen.

"Play one game at a time and don't look past teams."

With six returning starters and even with the loss of Austin Burns, Camas County should still compete towards the top of the conference this season, something that would bring plenty of excitement to everyone in Fairfield.
